Feb 26, 2016- Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli on Thursday briefed members of the coalition partners on the agendas he discussed with his Indian counterpart during his six-day India visit.
A day after wrapping up his first foreign trip as the prime minister, Oli claimed that the visit was “successful”.
“I raised issues firmly,” the PM told a meeting organised in Baluwatar. On his discussion with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, PM Oli reported that Modi had said he had no other interest than to see Nepalis working together.
In his meeting with the leaders of the ruling parties, Oli said the agreement
signed during his India visit to import goods from third countries using Bangladesh was the biggest achievement.
He said the Indian people were for Nepal’s prosperity. On different note, Oli said Indian PM Modi had not raised the issue of reverting Nepal to a Hindu state.
According to a statement issued by the PM office, UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal said Oli’s visit had been significant.
Dahal, UML leaders Jhala Nath Khanal and Bam Dev Gautam, Madhesi Janadhikar Forum-Loktantrik Chairman Bijaya Kumar Gachhadar and CPN-ML General Secretary CP Mainali were among those attending the meeting.
