IGP Aryal off to UK

KATHMANDU, March 12: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Upendra Kant Aryal left for the United Kingdom today on a professional study tour.

IGP Aryal left at the invitation of Her Majesty’s Inspectorate of Constabulary (HMIC). He will be in the UK from March 13 to 19, according to the Police Headquarters. During the visit, exchanges of experiences in policing will also take place.

The IGP is accompanied by the Chief of the Crime Investigation Department at the Police Headquarters, Additional Inspector General Bigyan Raj Sharma, Deputy Superintendent Devendra Subedi at the Research and Planning Directorate at the Police Headquarters and Senior Superintendent Rajendra Man Shrestha of the East Region Police Training Centre, Biratnagar.

In course of the visit, a progress review of the cooperation being provided by the UK Department for International Development (DFID) to Nepal Police for the modernization and improvement of policing project would be made as well as further cooperation in this sector explored.

IGP Aryal and the Nepal Police delegation will also take stock of and discuss on the control, monitoring and supervision mechanism of the UK Police Department in the British federal system as well as make a feasibility study of the same in the context of Nepal.

During the visit, the team will also meet the UK Minister of State related to DFID Desmond Swayne and high police officials. RSS
